Suspected herdsmen slaughter pregnant lady in Ekiti State

A lady, said to be a Tiv from Benue State, has been shot dead in a ranch settlement at Orin people group in Ido/Osi Local Government Area of Ekiti State.

Group sources asserted that the assault which ended the life of the lady, was retaliatory, after a Fulani man was killed in Oke-Ako, as of late supposedly by Tivs.

This is going on scarcely 24 hours after Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State summoned a peace meeting between the Fulani and Benue individuals in Ekiti State, where he cautioned against retaliatory assaults which may bring about passings in Ekiti.

Fayose had called for peace among the citizenry of the state, while the gathering had concurred that more partners would be welcome to guarantee peace.

However, reports from the group asserted that the charged Fulani assailants had assaulted the homestead settlement around evening time and had shot the lady, said to be eight-months pregnant.
